1X Technologies Begins Shipping NEO Home Robots Across Europe

1X Technologies announced on June 16 that its consumer humanoid NEO Home has cleared CE certification and is now shipping to early-access customers across four European markets. The first wave covers Germany, Norway, the UK, and the Netherlands.

What NEO Does

NEO is designed for soft, household work: tidying rooms, loading dishwashers, folding laundry, watering plants, and serving as a mobile telepresence platform. It stands 165 cm tall, weighs 30 kg, and operates near-silently thanks to its tendon-driven actuators.

Pricing & Subscription

NEO Home sells for $20,000 with a mandatory $99/month "1X Care" subscription that covers software updates, the teleoperated assistance fallback ("1X Expert Mode"), and parts warranty. A leasing program at $499/month is also available.

Privacy by Default

In response to EU GDPR concerns, all on-board cameras and microphones are local-first; teleoperation sessions require explicit per-session consent and are signaled by a hardware LED that cannot be software-overridden.

CEO Bernt Bornich called the launch "the iPhone moment for home robotics" and confirmed US shipments will begin in September pending FCC approval.
