Amazon to Deploy Agility Robotics' Digit Across 100 Warehouses by Year-End
Amazon and Agility Robotics jointly confirmed on June 14 that 8,000 Digit humanoid units will be deployed across 100 North American fulfillment centers by December 2026. It is the largest non-state humanoid order ever publicly disclosed.
Pilot Results
A 12-month pilot at fulfillment centers in Houston, Spokane, and Stockton showed: - 22% reduction in mid-shift ergonomic incidents - Digit handled 35% of all tote-to-conveyor moves on second/third shifts - Up-time of 91% across the pilot fleet
What Digit Will Do
The deployed Digits will operate exclusively in tote handling, conveyor loading, and trailer unloading — tasks that have historically driven a disproportionate share of workforce injuries. Amazon emphasized the deployments are augmentative and tied to a parallel investment in associate up-skilling.
Agility's Manufacturing Ramp
Agility's RoboFab facility in Salem, Oregon — already the world's first purpose-built humanoid factory — is now running 24/7 with a stated capacity of 10,000 units per year. A second factory in Texas was confirmed for groundbreaking in Q3 2026.
