Apptronik Apollo Enters Mercedes-Benz Production Line in Alabama

Austin-based Apptronik announced that Apollo humanoids are now operating on Mercedes-Benz USA's Tuscaloosa, Alabama production line. Twelve Apollo units perform subassembly delivery and inspection tasks during regular shifts, following an 18-month pilot.

The deployment expands a partnership first announced in March 2024 and is the first time a Western humanoid has been integrated into a German OEM's US-based production. Mercedes-Benz Group AG CTO Markus Schäfer called the result "a critical proof point for the manufacturing humanoid thesis."

Apptronik recently closed a $400M Series B led by B Capital and announced its second factory in Cedar Park, Texas, targeting 10,000 units/year capacity by late 2027.
