Automatica 2026 Opens in Munich With Record 950+ Robotics Exhibitors
Automatica 2026, the global flagship trade fair for intelligent automation and robotics, opened its doors in Munich on June 24 with the largest exhibitor line-up in its history. Over 950 companies from 47 countries are presenting across six halls at Messe München, with humanoid robots taking center stage for the first time.
A Humanoid-Forward Show
For the first time, an entire hall (B6) is dedicated to humanoid and bipedal robotics. Confirmed exhibitors include Figure AI, Apptronik, Agility Robotics, 1X Technologies, Unitree, Fourier Intelligence, EngineAI, Kepler Robotics, Sanctuary AI, and Neura Robotics. Live demonstration arenas allow visitors to watch robots fold laundry, sort warehouse parcels, and execute pick-and-place tasks alongside human operators.
Key Themes
- Physical AI: NVIDIA, Hugging Face, and Skild AI are showcasing the latest in foundation models for robotics, including Isaac GR00T N2 and the open-source LeRobot stack.
- Workforce safety: New ISO/TS 15066 collaborative robot standards are being formally adopted, with Universal Robots, KUKA, and Doosan unveiling next-gen cobots.
- European sovereignty: A dedicated "Made in Europe" pavilion highlights the EU's €1.4B "AI Factories for Robotics" initiative.
Notable Launches
KUKA debuted the LBR iisy-25, a 25 kg payload cobot priced under €18,000. Neura Robotics announced 4NE-1 v2 with an industry-first 16-hour battery life. ABB unveiled a software-defined controller that lets a single robot run multiple AI policies in parallel.
The fair runs through June 28 and is widely viewed as the bellwether event for industrial robotics deployment trends heading into 2027.
