NVIDIA Ships Isaac GR00T N2 With 10x Faster Sim-to-Real Pipeline
NVIDIA released Isaac GR00T N2 on June 20, the second major iteration of its humanoid-focused foundation model and developer stack. The release is timed to coincide with the company's two-day GR00T Developer Conference in Santa Clara.
What's in GR00T N2
- New foundation model trained on 500B+ tokens of cross-embodiment demonstration data
- Cosmos World Foundation Model integration for high-fidelity synthetic environments
- "Newton" physics engine v1.0 — co-developed with Disney Research and Google DeepMind
- Isaac Lab 3.0 with reinforcement-learning curricula for 47 humanoid tasks
- One-click deployment to Jetson Thor edge modules
10x Faster Sim-to-Real
The headline claim — a 10x reduction in real-world teleoperation requirements — is enabled by Cosmos-generated photoreal training data combined with domain-randomized physics. NVIDIA showed Boston Dynamics' Atlas performing a previously unseen warehouse task after just 4 hours of synthetic fine-tuning.
Pricing & Access
Isaac GR00T N2 is available free for research and via a subscription tier for commercial users starting at $499/seat/month. Jensen Huang said in the keynote that "the ChatGPT moment for physical AI is now 18 months away — and we will power it."
