Xpeng Confirms Iron Humanoid Customer Pilots Begin in Q3
Xpeng Motors confirmed on June 19 that its Iron humanoid will exit internal use and begin external customer pilots in Q3 2026. Three OEMs — reportedly in automotive, consumer electronics, and aerospace — have signed pilot agreements covering a total of 200 Iron units.
Iron has been deployed inside Xpeng's own Guangzhou plant since late 2025, primarily on door-assembly and final-inspection stations. The Q3 expansion is the company's first commercial humanoid revenue.
CEO He Xiaopeng also previewed Iron 2.0, slated for late 2027, which will feature a fully in-house cerebellum chip and an integrated end-to-end driving-style VLA model derived from Xpeng's automotive XNGP platform.
